The award for the best practice in the local government

The Municipality of Kotor has received the award for the best practice in the local government by the Union of the Municipalities in Montenegro in the field ‘touris potential in the local development’. In  the session held in Podgorica on the 6th of Decembar, 2013., it was decided that The Municipality of Kotor together with the Municipality of Budva get the award in this field, named "Implementation of the cadastre of tourist facilities - GIS municipalities Budva and Kotor." The presentation is part of the project ‘Support to the strategic planning’, which is implemented by the municipalities Budva and Kotor in cooperation with Emilia-Romagna Region of the Italy.    

This project is within SEENET program and the aim is to moan the Municipality of Budva and the Municipality of Kotor in strategic planning, with special emphasis on the relationship between tourism and the environment.

Within the project, the Municipality of Kotor has received a donation of hardware and software for GIS-Geographic Information System, for planning purposes in tourism. The value of donated equipment and services for the Municipality of Budva and the Municipality of Kotor is 64.550 euros. The municipalities are supplied with the equipment and provided with training and technical assistance in using the system.
