Visit to Brussels

In January, from 22nd  to 24th, it was organized a study visit in Brussels, which brought together representatives of local and regional authorities from the Western Balkans. The organizers were the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South East Europe (NALAS) in cooperation with the Committee of the Regions and the LAF included. The central theme of the conference was the fiscal decentralization. The participants have visited the institutions of the European Union and have met with leading representatives of local and regional authorities of the EU. 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the municipalities: Kotor, Budva, Bijelo Polje, Podgorica and Plužine. The Municipality of Kotor was represented by The Secretary of the Secretariat for local revenues, budget and finance, Mrs Biljana Peranović.

The participant at the seminar from 6o municipalities of the Western Balkans had a chance to meet with practice and models of fiscal decentralization, to share experiences and enhance their knowledge of EU requirements on municipal budgets, in order to face these challenges in the process of accession to the EU.
