THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN TO SUPPORT THE SPECIAL HOSPITAL IN DOBROTA

The government of Japan has helped the acquisition of an ambulance vehicle and equipment for a total of 61.736 euros to the Special Hospital for psychiatry in Dobrota, as a token of support for the health administration of the local community.

A ceremony was held today for that occasion, the Japanese ambassador for Montenegro - Juitsi Takahara, the president of the Kotor Municipality - Vladimir Jokić, the govrenment secretary of the Montenegro Ministry of Health - Milovan Vujović as well as the director of the Special hospital of Dobrota - Dragan Čabarkapa all attended.

President Vladimir Jokić saluted the attendants and commended the donation.

- The status of a society and its future is certainly reflected in the way it condones itself towards the most vulnerable groups. I believe this is a good indicator of a way that this and similar institutions can be upgraded, not just in Kotor, but in Montenegro. As the president of the municipality I can say that your institutions will have the support of the local autonomy. Our doors are always open for any kind of support - said president Jokić.

 

Satisfied with the success of the project, ambassador Takahara reminded us of the close relation between the Kotor municipalitz and Japan, successful business practice of the "Daido Metal" firm, as well as the Japanese Government donation for the protection of cultural monuments and the Kotor General Hospital.

- An ambulance vehicle, medical and other equipment (ECG for all five hospital wards, as well as plate cleaning and wash-mashines) were provided with this project, with the intention of enhancing the quality of the medical and sanitary conditions for the hospital patients - the ambassador of Japan for Montenegro has expressed, reminding us that the Government of Japan will continue to provide assistance in imprivng the medical facilities in Montenegro.

Counting today's donation, the total amount of funds received from the Japanse help programs through projects for the basic population needs (POPOS) in Montenegro since 1998 surpasses 2.7 million euros. The total amount of Japanse support towards Montenegro in the same period amounts to approximately 20 million euros.
