Municipality of Kotor attended the UNESCO charters
The secretary for Culture, Sports and Social Affairs Jelena Vukasović on behalf of the Municipality of Kotor and the lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, prof. Dr. Ilija Lalošević attended the ceremonies organized by city and county administrations in Šibenik and Zadar from 20 to 22 December due to the awarding of the UNESCO Charter and the entry into the World Heritage List of the Sibenik fortress Sveti Nikola and the fortification complex of Zadar.
The charter was presented by the assistant director of UNESCO for culture Francesco Bandarin to the mayor of the Šibenik-Knin County, Goran Pauk and the mayor of Zadar, Branko Dukić. With numerous high-ranking officials, Croatian Culture Minister Nina Obulin Korinjek spoke. With the fortification of the Croatian cities of Zadar and Sibenik and the Italian Bergamas, Palmanova and Peschiera del Garda, in July this year at the UNESCO session in Krakow, the Kotor fortifications were included on the World Heritage List as part of the Venetian defense structures between the 16th and 17th centuries.
