FORUM OF ADRIATIC AND IONIAN REGIONS
Organized by the cities of the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian regions, chambers of commerce and municipalities of Chieti and Pescara, as well as the Abruzzo region, there were held the 17th Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce and the 18th Forum of Adriatic and Ionian cities, which was chaired by the Municipality of Kotor over the past two years. In the exhibition pavilion of the Marine Pescara, a joint plenary session of the Forum of cities and chambers of commerce called “On the way to the future”, along with the host cities of Chieti and Pescara and their chambers of commerce, was chaired by the Mayor of Kotor Vladimir Jokić.
After the opening remarks, the session continued with participation of representatives of national, regional, local and EU institutions on topics controlled area in the macro-regional perspective, industry 4.0 and digitization way of the future for small and large companies, as well as discussions in line with The EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region - EUSAIR strategy.
At the special session dedicated to the integration of cultural heritage and tourism, besides the cities of Ancona, Olympia and Chieti, Jokić presented experiences of Kotor and the need to preserve cultural heritage and promote tourism offer. The representatives of World Travel Organizations, European institutions and the tourism industry took part in this session.
During the last day of the forum, in the framework of regular Assembly of the Forum of Adriatic and Ionian Cities, with the votes of all members, the presidency was awarded the town of Vasto, while Mostar was awarded the vice-presidency.
Mayor Jokić thanked the Forum for the opportunity that Kotor had while chairing this organization and expressed readiness for further cooperation in joint projects. The Board also elected new executive board of Foum, which, besides Kotor, included the municipalities of Budva and Bar.
