THE VISITS TO THE WALLS OF THE CITY HAVE BEEN MORE PROFITABLE IN FOUR MONTHS THAN THE ENTIRETY OF LAST YEAR

THE VISITS TO THE WALLS OF THE CITY HAVE BEEN MORE PROFITABLE IN FOUR MONTHS THAN THE ENTIRETY OF LAST YEAR

The amout of sold tickets for the city wall visits in the period from April 12 to August 23 this year generated revenue of 384,879 euros. Compared to the same period last year, this revenue reached a record increase of 149,931 euros.

For comparison, during the entire year last year, from the collection of tickets for visiting the city walls and the fortress, the Directorate for the Landscape work and Construction of Kotor collected only EUR 363,201, which is EUR 21,678 less than the amount gathered during the four and a half months of this year.

The efforts of the local government to take all measures to improve the income in this segment have proved more than successful. In order to improve the service system and achieve even better results, by the end of 2017, the state-of-the-art electronic system for collecting and controlling the entrance to city walls, with cameras and sensor counters, will be procured. The local self-government brought the decision to initiate the procurement procedure for this equipment at the meeting of the President of the Municipality.

We expect that after testing the new system and training of employees, along with investments in the city walls' rehabilitation, an additional increase of revenues is to occur in the following period.
