PRESIDENT JOKIC HAS VISITED THE KOTOR FIREFIGHTERS

The Kotor Municipality President, Vladimir Jokic, with the director of the Directorate for Urban Planning and Construction of Kotor, Rat Brajkovic has visited the Kotor Fire Department. In a conversation with the commander of the Protection Service, Maksim Mandic and the members of the fire brigade, President Jokic visited the premises and the parking lot, and he was informed about the current problems of this service.

Considering that the summer was marked by numerous and intense fires in which the firefighters were readily involved, President Jokic praised the members of the firefighting unit for unselfish work and dedication. Also, the President expressed hope that in the upcoming period, there will be no major interventions until the end of the season.

This year, one of the fire broke out inside the city walls, below the San Giovanni fort where, due to inaccessibility of the terrain and the lack of adequate equipment, it was extremely difficult to fight against the fire menace. Due to this incident, it was agreed to purchase new pumps, hoses and other necessary equipment, and to sanitize one of the rooms within the city fort, which will be intended exclusively for the purpose of keeping fire extinguishing equipment.

Municipality President Vladimir Jokic announced that at the end of the season there will be a gathering with the Kotor firefighters, where members of the Protection Service will be presented with awards for selfless engagement during the past months.

The Local government, in accordance with its capabilities and in communication with the competent state authorities, will strive to assist in securing the necessary funds and thus facilitate the work of the members of the Protection Service.
