CONGRATULATIONS FROM THE MUNICIPALITY PRESIDENT FOR THE DAY OF STATEHOOD

I congratulate all the citizens of the Kotor Municipality, as July the 13th is the Statehood Day. This date has twice confirmed through history the commitment of our people to anti-fascist values, as well as the state of Montenegro belonging to the line of societies of modern civilization. In Berlin in 1878, Montenegro was recognized as an independent state, and 63 years later, on that same date, the first armed uprising against fascism was raised in Montenegro. In the enslaved Europe, the spark of our national liberation struggle has ignited a victorious flame, firmly based on the ideas of anti-Fascism. Dear fellow citizens, we must remember and pass on these values to the generations to come, teaching them that only justice, mutual respect, multiethnicity and multiconfessionalism are the true foundation of a healthy society.
